Prabowo Subianto

Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo was born on October 17, 1951, in Jakarta. He hails from a family with significant political and economic influence in Indonesia. His father, Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, was a prominent economist and served as a cabinet minister in several Indonesian administrations. His mother, Dora Marie Sigar, came from a Minahasan family.

Prabowo's early life was marked by frequent travels due to his father's work and political activities. He received his education in various countries, including Switzerland, England, and Malaysia, before returning to Indonesia. This exposure to international environments shaped his worldview and broadened his understanding of global affairs.

He entered the Indonesian Military Academy (Akabri) in Magelang and graduated in 1974. Following his graduation, Prabowo embarked on a military career, rising through the ranks and holding various command positions within the Indonesian Army's special forces (Kopassus).

His family background and military training instilled in him a strong sense of nationalism and a commitment to serving the nation. These early influences played a crucial role in shaping his subsequent career in both the military and politics.
